Dear Potential Corporate Sponsor,
To put it bluntly, this letter is to solicit sponsorship for a
multi purpose event I am organizing called “Northside Celebrates
Voting” on November 4, the Saturday before Election Day, from 4
until 10 pm that will:
- Make voting “hip” and “fun” so more people will do it;
- Bring awareness to the area's existence, highlighting its diverse
culture;
- Provide an opportunity for voters to educate themselves on candidate’s
positions and the various issues;
- Continue to build greater unity and trust between the widely
diverse cultures that make up this unique neighborhood.
Thomas J. Peters said “Celebrate what you want to see more of.”
Well, I want to see more people feel empowered for positive change
in this wonderfully diverse neighborhood. So I am building this
event with the belief that music is a great unifying and motivating
force that transcends cultural boundaries. With that in mind there
will be three musical groups that will play a variety of music from
rock/funk and reggae to Celtic/folk. These groups will take breaks
every 15 minutes to allow all local candidates who wish to participate
to speak and answer questions. I am also inviting representatives
from both sides of any issue on the local ballots.
I have the support of the Northside Community Council and the Northside
Business Association. I also have the full participation of many
local businesses. Unfortunately, these small start-up businesses
and community organizations can not offer the financial assistance
needed to go along with their enthusiastic encouragement, which
is where you come in. I am requesting a contribution to the Northside
Community Council (a registered 501-c3) for the financial support
of this event in exchange for a significant amount of positive publicity
and a potential tax write-off for your company.
I look forward to the opportunity of working with you on promoting
your company’s positive work with local neighborhoods. It will be
a wonderful pleasure to enhance your company’s image as a responsible
and concerned corporate citizen.
Sincerely,
| Heather Sturgill
